Assumes Office on Monday, Pledges Better Healthcare Services for Patients
Gonda: A key administrative change has taken place at Gonda Medical College with the appointment of Dr. Aftab Alam as the new Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) following the transfer of Dr. M.W. Khan, who had been serving in the position for a considerable period.
Dr. Aftab Alam formally assumed charge of the post on Monday and began his responsibilities as the head of the hospital’s administrative and healthcare operations.
Currently serving in the Department of Surgery at the medical college, Dr. Alam brings both clinical expertise and administrative experience to his new role. His appointment is expected to strengthen the management and delivery of healthcare services at the institution.
Speaking after taking charge, Dr. Alam said that providing better healthcare facilities and improved patient care would be his top priority. He emphasized the need to ensure cleanliness across the hospital premises, uninterrupted availability of medicines, and timely attendance of doctors and healthcare staff.

“Our primary focus will be to enhance the quality of services available to patients and ensure that all essential facilities function efficiently and transparently,” Dr. Alam said.
Faculty members, doctors, and staff of the medical college welcomed the new CMS and extended their congratulations. They also assured him of their full cooperation in improving hospital administration and healthcare delivery.
The change in leadership comes as part of ongoing administrative reshuffles and is expected to contribute to further strengthening patient services and operational efficiency at Gonda Medical College.
